**Description**

The terminal displays the total and remaining amount and prompts to continue the transaction. After completing the first partial transaction, split payments will be prompted again depending on the number of equal parts remaining or the amount of the total remaining to pay after the last split. After each split, one can also change from equal parts to amount splits, or vice-versa.

\
**Configuration Parameter**

When enabled (`1`), Connect Express will make the Other Options menu available during split payment flows, allowing additional payment options. When disabled (`0`), the Other Options menu will not be available, only card payment will be allowed.

\
**Merchant/Customer action**

Selecting *Equal Parts* changes the amount to be equal to the total amount divided by the number of parts specified. If the divided amount results in a remainder, then one payment will be rounded to ensure the total amount is paid across the individual parts.

Selecting *Amount* changes the amount to the amount specified for the split payment.

Select *Card* to start the payment using a card or mobile device.

Selecting *Other* prompts the merchant for other payment options.

Selecting *Back* cancels the payment.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.verifone.com/functional-specification/split_payment_option.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
