M450 Quick Installation Guide

This guide walks you through unpacking, cabling, powering on, and taking a first payment on the M450 countertop terminal.

Before you begin, confirm you have all devices, cables, and accessories listed below.

Quick Setup Guide

Open the Terminal and Insert the Cards

Remove the back cover

Slide the back cover off the underside of the terminal to expose the card slots and the cable channel.

Insert the SAM and memory cards

Insert the SAM cards into the SAM 1 and SAM 2 slots (A), and the microSD (TF) card and third SAM card into the TF and SAM 3 slots (B).

Connect the Power Supply

Connect the cable and power adapter

Plug the module cable into the port on the underside of the terminal (A). Connect the power adapter to the power supply module (C), then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.

Seat the cable in the channel

Push the connector fully into the port and press the cable down into the routing channel (B).

Refit and secure the back cover

Slide the back cover onto the terminal until it is flush (A), then fasten it with the supplied screw (B).

Power On the Terminal

Press and hold the power button on the side of the terminal for three seconds.

Connect the Terminal

Connect the terminal to your network through a Wi-Fi router, or pair it with a mobile device over Bluetooth.

Fit the Privacy Shield

Press the shield into place

Align the privacy shield over the keypad and press down on both sides until it seats.

Check the fit

The shield sits over the keypad and clear of the display when it is fitted correctly.

Take a Payment

Swipe a magnetic-stripe card

Swipe the card through the reader slot along the right side of the terminal.

Tap a contactless card

Hold the card over the contactless symbol on the front of the terminal until it is read.

Insert a chip card

Insert the card chip-first into the card slot at the front of the terminal, and leave it in place until prompted to remove it.
