# K450 Quick Installation Guide

This guide covers the hardware installation of the K450: choosing a mounting configuration, routing the cables, and securing the pole to a floor or an overhead surface.

Before you begin, confirm you have all devices, cables, and accessories listed below.

### Choose a Mounting Configuration

The K450 can be installed as a Single-Side Pole Mount, a Wall Mount, or a Dual-Sided Pole Mount. For the wall mount, refer to the K450 Wall Mount guide (DOC500-012-EN-A).

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Remove the Base Cover Screw

Remove the retaining screw from the side of the base cover.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Separate the Base Cover

Lift the two base cover halves away from the base plate to expose the mounting holes and the cable routing.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Route the Cables and Bond the Ground Wire

Route the power and USB cables up through the pole into the base, then secure the ring terminal of the green protective-earth conductor to the grounding stud (detail). For the conductor assignments and connection details, refer to the K450 Installation Guide (DOC500-009-EN-A).

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Install the Pole on the Floor

Mark and drill the four mounting holes in the floor, using the sizes called out in the artwork (4-5" x 4 and 3/8" x 4) and the 12 mm and 6 mm dimensions shown.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Drive the anchors

Hammer a 3/8" anchor into each of the four holes.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.verifone.com/hardware-products/hardware/kiosks/k450/k450-quick-installation-guide.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
