* Connect USB cable with a locking screw from merchant facing display (Victa Register) to power the customer facing display (Victa Lane).

### Connecting Victa Register to a Power Source

There are two methods to power up the Victa Register.

Choose one method based on your setup requirements. Do not use both methods simultaneously.

Following are the two ways to power up the Victa Register:

### To Connect Victa Register to a Power Source

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Method A — Power the Victa Register directly from the 48W PSU

Use this method when peripheral devices (printer, scanner) will be connected via the Victa Register's built-in USB-A port, or when the green dongle is not required.

* Ensure all peripheral devices are connected, and the Victa Lane cable is secured.
* Connect the tethered USB-C cable with locking screw to the power input port on the Victa Register. Tighten the locking screw finger tight.
* Plug the AC power adapter into a grounded AC power outlet.

The Victa Register will power on automatically.

<figure><img src="/files/6ot2YxbiwK454tPXxf7O" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Do not connect the device to the power supply until all peripheral devices and the Victa Lane cable are fully attached. Using an incorrectly rated power supply can damage the unit or cause it to malfunction. See Chapter 2, Specifications for power supply requirements. Verifone recommends installing a surge protector to guard against damage from lightning strikes and electrical surges. Disconnecting power during an active transaction may cause unsaved data to be lost.

*Ne connectez pas l'appareil à l'alimentation électrique tant que tous les périphériques ne sont pas connectés. L'utilisation d'une alimentation électrique mal dimensionnée peut endommager l'appareil ou entraîner son dysfonctionnement. Consultez les spécifications pour plus de détails sur l'alimentation. La déconnexion de l'alimentation pendant une transaction peut également entraîner la perte de fichiers de données non enregistrés. Verifone recommande d'installer un parasurtenseur pour se protéger contre d'éventuels dommages causés par la foudre et les surtensions électriques.*
{% endhint %}

### Verifying Victa Lane Connection (Dual-screen mode)

After physically connecting the USB cable from the Victa Register to the Victa Lane, verify that the link is active before proceeding.

Power on the Victa Register (see "Connecting Victa Register to a Power Source").

Observe the Victa Lane display. Within 30 seconds of power-on, the Victa Lane screen should illuminate and display the Verifone boot screen.

If the Victa Lane screen remains dark, check the following:

* Confirm the USB cable locking screw is fully tightened at both ends.
* Confirm the cable is connected to the correct USB-C port on the Victa Register (the port designated for Victa Lane, not the power supply port).
* Try replacing the cable with a known-good unit.

Once the Victa Lane displays the idle payment screen, the connection is confirmed.

{% hint style="info" %}
The Victa Lane is powered entirely by the USB-C connection from the Victa Register. It does not require a separate power supply. If the Victa Register loses power, then the Victa Lane will also power off.
{% endhint %}

The Victa Lane does not require independent network configuration. All network communication (Wi-Fi, LTE, Ethernet) is handled by the Victa Register and passed through the USB connection to the Victa Lane. No additional network settings are required on the Victa Lane itself.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.verifone.com/hardware-products/hardware/victa/victa-register/victa-register-installation-guide/device-setup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
