VASC Site Management

Configuration Areas and Default Permissions

Each configuration area a merchant can assign to a VASC company carries a default permission level, applied automatically at assignment time. All areas except Fuel Prices grant View and Edit together as a single assignment.

VASC Site Management

To assign or remove a VASC Company, navigate to the top menu on Verifone Commander Central and select Administration > External Access and click on VASC Site Management.

Only the site administrator can assign VASC companies.

Use the search boxes to display the Service ID, Site Name, Connection Status, or VASC Company.

Field/Button	Description
Manage Sites	It allows the site admin to select VASCs to be assigned or unassigned to sites.
Manage Features	It allows the site admin to select configuration areas to assign to a VASC. Each area applies its default permission level (View, or View/Edit) automatically; see Configuration Areas and Default Permissions.
Service ID	It is a number assigned by Verifone to a site.
Site Name	It is the name of the site.
Connection Status	It lists the sites that are offline, online, or pending.
VASC Company	It lists the Verifone Authorized Service Contractor (VASC) company.
Features	It lists the features assigned to the VASC that they can edit.

Click on Manage Sites.

Add check mark(s) to the boxes next to the sites to be assigned to the VASC.

Terms and Conditions

Read the agreement and then add a check mark agreeing to the terms and conditions displayed on the form.

Assign

Click Assign and a message displays the quantity of sites assigned to the VASC.

Click Close.

Every assignment, unassignment, and Fuel Prices Edit-elevation action performed on this page is a configuration change and is captured in the site's Audit Log, showing the company, user, operation, and timestamp. See Audit Log for details.

Add check mark(s) to the boxes next to the sites assigned to the VASC.

Uncheck the boxes for the features and whether they have edit or view permissions.

Click Unassign and a message displays the site features assigned to the VASC.

Elevating Fuel Prices to Edit

By default, assigning Fuel Prices to a VASC grants View only. To grant Edit access, the merchant must take a separate, explicit action — selecting Fuel Prices under Assign Features does not, by itself, grant Edit.

Locate the VASC

Navigate to Manage Features, and select the VASC company and site as in Assign Features above.

Elevate permission

With Fuel Prices already assigned (View), select the separate “Edit” control for Fuel Prices.

Assign and Record

Assign the change. This action, like all VASC permission changes, this action is captured in the site's Audit Log (see Audit Log).

Restricting Sub-User Access (VASC Admin only)

A VASC Admin can restrict which of the company-assigned configuration areas an individual VASC sub-user may view or edit. A sub-user’s effective access is always the intersection of the merchant’s company-level assignment and the VASC Admin’s sub-user-level restriction — a sub-user can never be granted more access than the merchant assigned to the VASC company as a whole.

This restriction is configured by the VASC Admin from within the VASC’s own Commander Central session (see the “VASC Access” page, Section “Managing Sub-User Access”), not by the merchant. Merchants continue to grant and revoke company-level access from this page.
