Introduction

Verifone Commander Central is a web application that enables Petroleum Merchants and Major Oil administrators to maintain a centralized point for site data, monitor sites remotely, and provides a convenient platform for synchronous oversight and configuration.

Verifone Commander Central does not require a technician to visit each location to make changes and updates. Updates can be made selectively or all at once from the web application.

This guide covers the following topics:

  • Hierarchy: Setting up and managing hierarchy — the arrangement of groups and sites that reflects your business structure (e.g. National > Regional > Western > Pacific).

  • Sites: Setting up and managing sites (individual business locations) within the hierarchy, including manual creation, bulk upload, and site transfers between merchant accounts.

  • Roles: Defining user roles and the permissions associated with each role, controlling what features and data each user can access within Verifone Commander Central.

  • Account Types and Features: An overview of the four primary account types (Petro Site Admin, Major Oil Admin, VASC, and Partner) and the features available to each.

  • Create Users: Creating and managing users, including assigning roles, automatic site assignment, and creating additional administrator accounts.

  • Dashboard: An overview of the application dashboard, which provides visibility into online and offline sites, devices, and configuration completion status.

  • My Account: Viewing and managing your account information, including changing your password and the forgot password process.

  • Reports: Access near-real-time data through Site Asset Reports, T-Log Viewer, Summary Reports, and Commander Reports (period-close reports synced automatically from the Commander at each shift, day, or other period close).

  • Password Management: Remotely managing Verifone Commander passwords across sites, including initial onboarding and ongoing configuration updates.

  • Loyalty (Enterprise): Creating and managing Loyalty programs, adding loyalty cards, assigning programs to sites, and managing Loyalty Merchant IDs (MIDs).

  • Mobile Payment (Enterprise): Creating and managing Mobile Payment programs, including MID bulk upload and program-level configuration.

  • Primary Payment (Enterprise): Configuring Primary Payment programs, including card price tiers, cashback, and fees.

  • Site Configuration: Remotely managing and synchronizing site-level configurations across Store Operations (MOPs, Currencies, Fees, Tax Rates, Categories, Departments, PLUs, Blue Laws, ID Checks, Sales, Images, Menus, Touch Screen, Tipping, House Accounts, Charity Donations, Self Checkout), Promos and Discounts (Car Wash PLU Promotions, NAXML Deal, Coupons), Payment Operations (Primary Payment, TAVE, Loyalty, Mobile, EPS, EMV, Commander Fleet), Access Control, Forecourt (DCR Configuration, Fuel Prices, Fuel Configuration, Fuel Tax Exemptions, Fuel Price Display), Devices, System Settings (NTP, Reboot Commander), and Reporting (Close Period).

  • Commander Fleet Services: Self-enrolling sites in the Commander Fleet subscription program through an integrated 2Checkout payment flow, including eligibility checking and activation tracking.

  • Major Oil Policy: Enforcing brand-level configuration policies across sites for Major Oil administrators, and managing Access Profiles that grant Major Oil Admins view and/or edit access to site configurations.

  • External Access Approval: Approving and managing access for Verifone Authorized Service Contractors (VASCs) and Partners, including assigning sites and features.

  • VASC Access: Describes the Verifone Commander Central experience for VASC users, including hierarchy, site management, and user administration.

  • Partner Access: Describes the Verifone Commander Central experience for Partner users, including hierarchy, site management, and API key management.

  • Viper Table Management: Managing Viper card tables used for fleet and commercial card processing.

  • Connect Device to Cloud: Connecting a Verifone Commander to the Verifone Commander Central cloud application, including requirements and troubleshooting.

  • One-Time Password: Configuring and using the One-Time Password (OTP) feature to send a secure password from the Commander to an email address for OTP-dependent access.
