### Overview
The Verifone Payment Software Development Kit (PSDK) is a PCI (Payment Card Industry)-compliant, simple and secure payment integration with merchant's in-store POS applications. It works across regions, payment hosts, connections, payment protocols, Verifone platforms and devices, and merchant platforms and devices.
The Verifone PSDK provides a simplified and streamlined experience to the developers.
The Verifone PSDK reduces the coding time and effort while giving you the tools to develop state-of-the-art solutions.

### Integration Mode
Verifone PSDK - POS Integration solution supports both semi-integration and slim integration.
***Semi-Integration*** is the integration of the Verifone Payment Application with the merchant’s POS application developed using Verifone PSDK – POS Integration capabilities where the host service is handled by the Verifone Payment Application. The Semi-Integration mode supports both off-device and on-device integrations. On-device semi-integration is the integration of the merchant’s POS application developed using Verifone PSDK – POS Integration capabilities with the Verifone Payment application where the POS application resides on the payment device.Once the transaction is initiated, the merchant’s POS application UI is displayed. The transaction information is then passed on to the Verifone Payment Application. The Verifone Payment Application communicates for security management and then returns the data to Verifone Payment Application. The Verifone Payment Application interacts with the Host for authentication and then receives the response. The authenticated response is further sent to POS for processing.
***Slim-Integration*** is the integration of the Verifone Payment Application with the merchant’s POS application developed using Verifone PSDK – POS Integration capabilities where the host service is handled by the merchant’s POS application. The Slim-Integration mode supports only on-device integrations. Once the transaction is initiated, the merchant’s POS application UI is displayed, and the POS application communicates with Verifone Payment Application. The Verifone Payment Application communicates for security management and provides Verifone Payment Application with the card details. Verifone Payment Application will pass the card details to POS. POS interacts with the Host for authentication and then receives the response. The response is further sent to Verifone Payment Application for processing.
**Note:** For integrators considering the adoption of slim-integrated solution, it is essential to initiate contact with their designated local sales or product representative. The decision to employ slim-integrated solutions is primarily a strategic business choice made by Verifone within the respective region. When a partner opts for the slim-integrated approach, it's important to note that Verifone services may not be utilized as some transactions may be routed to an external host based upon requirements. The operational procedures differ significantly when employing this approach. Contact your local sales/product representative for more information on the availability of slim-integration in your region.
