# How to Set Up Wi-Fi

Connect your P400 Two-Piece to your Wi-Fi network, and fix a wrong Wi-Fi password.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Use this when** you want to connect your terminal to your Wi-Fi network instead of using a network cable.
{% endhint %}

## Before you start

{% hint style="warning" %}

* Have your **Wi-Fi network name** and **Wi-Fi password** ready.
* Both units must be connected to the **same network**.
  {% endhint %}

You can connect your two units in any of these ways:

* **Both units on Wi-Fi**
* **One unit on Wi-Fi** and **one unit on a network (Ethernet/LAN) cable**
* **Both units on a network (Ethernet/LAN) cable** — see [How to Connect the Cables](/support-nordics/p400-two-piece-sa/how-tos/how-to-connect-the-cables.md)

Follow the steps below on **each unit you want to connect to Wi-Fi**.

To open the menu:

* **Operator unit:** press **#**. No password is needed.
* **Customer unit:** press **4** and **6** at the same time, then enter password **1234** and press the **green button**.

## Still not connecting?

* **Check your Wi-Fi network is working.** Try connecting another device, such as your phone, to the same Wi-Fi.
* **No other internet available?** You can test the terminal using your mobile phone's **personal hotspot**, by connecting the terminal to it in the same way.
* Still not working? <mark style="color:red;">Contact Verifone Support</mark> — we may need to check your terminal's Wi-Fi security settings.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.verifone.com/support-nordics/p400-two-piece-sa/how-tos/how-to-set-up-wi-fi.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
