# How to Create a User

Create a new TCS user and give them access to the right groups.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Use this when** you want to give someone else in your company access to TCS.
{% endhint %}

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open User management

Go to **User management** → **TCS users**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Fill in the user's details

Fill in all the user's details, choose their **role** (see [User Roles and Permissions](/support-nordics/tcs-client/user-management/user-roles-and-permissions.md)), and choose whether to send their password to them by **SMS**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The **username** must be in **lowercase**, with no spaces — for example: **villevirtanen**.
{% endhint %}

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Give access to groups

Choose which **terminal groups** the user can see. Either tick the box to give access to **all groups**, or select individual groups and move them to the right-hand box with the **arrow**.

{% hint style="danger" %}
If you don't give the user access to any groups, they **won't see any information** in TCS.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Save the user

Click **Next**. The user is now added and will receive an **email** with their **login details**.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
The **email report** option automatically emails the user a report of any incorrect statements from the payment terminals.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.verifone.com/support-nordics/tcs-client/user-management/how-to-create-a-user.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
