# How to Run a Reconciliation

Run a reconciliation on your V400M to send any stored transactions to our system.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Use this when** you need to send any stored transactions from your terminal to our system — for example, after the terminal has been offline, or before your terminal is replaced.
{% endhint %}

A reconciliation connects your terminal to our system and sends any transactions that were stored while it was offline. It's a good idea to run one before your terminal is replaced, so you know nothing has been left on it.

## Before you start

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure your terminal is connected to your network before you start.
{% endhint %}

## Run a reconciliation

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open the menu

Press **4** and **6** at the same time, then enter password **1234** and press the **green button**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Select Reconciliation

Select **Reconciliation**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Run the reconciliation

Select **Reconciliation** again. The terminal will send any stored transactions to our system.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="success" %}
**Want to check it worked?** See [How to Check Stored Transaction Data](/support-nordics/v400m/how-tos/how-to-check-stored-transaction-data.md) — there should be no stored transactions left.
{% endhint %}

## If the reconciliation doesn't work

Try these checks:

* **Check your terminal is online.** Run a network test — see [How to Do a Network Test](/support-nordics/v400m/how-tos/how-to-do-a-network-test.md).
* **Check your connection.** Make sure Wi-Fi or mobile data is connected — see [How to Set Up Wi-Fi](/support-nordics/v400m/how-tos/how-to-set-up-wi-fi.md) or [How to Check Mobile Data Configuration](/support-nordics/v400m/how-tos/how-to-check-mobile-data-configuration.md).
* **Restart the terminal.** A restart often fixes connection problems — see [How to Reboot the Terminal](/support-nordics/v400m/how-tos/how-to-reboot-the-terminal.md).
* **Check for stuck transactions.** See [Offline Transactions](/support-nordics/v400m/errors/offline-transactions.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.verifone.com/support-nordics/v400m/how-tos/how-to-run-a-reconciliation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
