# How to Set Up a Hidden Wi-Fi Network

Manually connect a P400 terminal to a hidden (non-broadcast) Wi-Fi network.

**Use this when** you need to connect a P400 terminal to a hidden Wi-Fi network — one that doesn't broadcast its name (SSID).

**Do NOT use this when** your Wi-Fi network is visible/broadcast — this guide is only for hidden networks. For a normal visible network, use [How to Set Up a Wi-Fi Network](/support-uk/p400/how-tos/how-to-set-up-a-wi-fi-network.md) instead.

This guide manually adds a hidden Wi-Fi network from the Supervisor menu, entering the network name yourself.

You'll need the Supervisor password to complete this process. The default is `12345`. If it has been changed and you don't know it, refer to page 43 of the [Webcom Manual](https://helpcenter.verifone.com/webcom-manual/).

## Set up a hidden Wi-Fi network

### Open the Main Menu

Tap the bar at the top of the screen, or press the `*` button.

### Open the Supervisor Menu

Select `Supervisor` and enter your Supervisor password.

### Open Communication

Choose `Communication` (press `2`).

### Access Configuration

Scroll up to view more options, then select `Configuration`.

### Open Network Interface

In the Configuration menu, select `Network Interface`.

### Choose Wi-Fi

Select `Wi-Fi` from the Network Interface options.

### Add a new network

Tap `New` to manually set up the hidden Wi-Fi network.

### Enter the network name (SSID)

Select `SSID`, type your network name, and press `OK`.

### Set authentication

Select `Authentication` and choose the correct security type (most routers use `WPA-PSK`).

### Enter the Wi-Fi password

Select `Pre-Shared Key (PSK)`, type your Wi-Fi password, and press `OK`.

### Exit the Authentication menu

Press `X` or tap the blue Authentication bar to exit.

### Confirm the settings

Press `OK` to confirm.

### Apply the network settings

Select `Yes` when prompted to apply the changes.

### Exit and log in

Tap the top bar or press `X` to close the menus, then log in as usual.
