# SAF (Store and Forward)

This section includes information about SAF or store and forward transactions.

## What is a Store and Forward (SAF) Transaction?

When the Store and Forward (SAF) feature is enabled, it allows a terminal to store specific transaction types offline if the internet connection is lost. Once the connection is restored, these stored transactions are forwarded for final authorization. SAF supports credit, gift card, and EBT transactions (if enabled).

Merchants with SAF enabled can process individual credit transactions below the floor limit, even if the internet network is down. The total number of transactions that can be stored depends on the Transaction Floor Limit and the Total Floor Limit set by the individual company.

## SAF Parameters

* **Transaction Floor Limit (Mx) / SAF Limit (Vx):** Maximum allowable amount per individual transaction.
* **Total Floor Limit:** Maximum allowable total for all queued SAF transactions.
* **SAF Purge Days:** Number of days Approved/Declined SAF transactions are stored in the terminal. Pending transactions remain unaffected.
* **SAF Post Interval:** Time in seconds between the sending of each SAF transaction to the processor once the terminal is back online.
* **Days Limit:** Maximum consecutive days the terminal can accept SAF transactions.
