# Error: Result Code 1010 - Amount Error

What Result Code 1010 - Amount Error means and how to resolve it.

**Use this when** a refund, credit, or sale processed through the Web Terminal shows Result Code 1010 - Amount Error, or the Sale Amount displays as 0.00 after the transaction went through.

## Symptoms

You may see one or more of the following:

* Result Code 1010 - Amount Error on a completed transaction.
* The Sale Amount field on the transaction screen shows 0.00 instead of the actual refund, credit, or sale amount.

**Most likely cause:** the transaction was submitted through the Web Terminal without an amount entered in the Sale Amount field.

## Before you start

* Confirm whether the affected transaction was a Sale or a Credit/Refund — you'll reprocess it using the matching guide.

## Resolve the error

### Reprocess the transaction

Process a new refund, credit, or sale of the same type, and make sure the Sale Amount field on the transaction screen is completed before submitting.
