# Parameter download support for reference set assignment

Download and edit parameters to devices using reference set assignments inherited from the device hierarchy in the Device Profile screen.

## What is reference set parameter download support?

This feature supports downloading parameters to devices whose assignment type is a reference set — assigned either directly to the device or inherited from the hierarchy.

The *Device Profile* screen displays the reference set name assigned to a device. With a reference set assignment, you can edit parameters directly on the *Device Profile* screen.
