# VHQ Software Management

This section discusses software management in VHQ. Also, included is the demonstrational video of this feature.

## What is Software Management?

The **Software Management** feature allows you to manage software on a large number of devices across the system with the help of *Packages*, *Reference sets*, and *Applications*.

The *Software Management* feature provides a powerful and customized way to manage software on the device estate. You can manage the software automatically (automated downloads) or manually through a controlled environment.

* [Manual downloads](https://verifone.cloud/docs/verifonehq-application/manual-downloads): You can manually download the required software to a selected set of devices.

The software on VHQ is primarily configured by importing **Software packages**.
