# Modify existing rollout

Edit a rollout saved for later or cancel a rollout job in progress.

Use this page to edit a rollout saved for later or cancel a rollout job in progress.

{% hint style="info" %}
When you cancel a rollout job in progress, the system asks for confirmation and then updates the job status to **Cancelled**.
{% endhint %}

### Before you start

Confirm that:

* you selected the correct rollout
* the rollout is either saved for later or currently running
* you know whether you need to edit the rollout or cancel it

Record the rollout and batch state before changing anything. Edit only a saved rollout. Use cancellation for in-progress work that must stop.

### Modify the rollout

1. Go to **Verifone Central** → **Device Management** → **Rollouts**.

2. Select the rollout to review its batches.
3. Expand the rollout when you need to inspect batch details.
4. Select **Edit** only for a rollout saved for later.
5. Review the target, payload, and schedule before changing any value.
6. Continue through [batch rollout creation](https://verifone.gitbook.io/us-core-help-center/verifone-central/verifone-central/rollouts/schedule-rollouts/create-a-batch-rollout) or [single-device rollout creation](https://verifone.gitbook.io/us-core-help-center/verifone-central/verifone-central/rollouts/schedule-rollouts/create-rollout-for-a-single-device).
7. Use the cancel action only when an in-progress rollout must stop.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Do not create a replacement rollout until you verify the original rollout state. This avoids sending duplicate work to the same devices.
{% endhint %}

### Verify the result

After the change, confirm that:

* the rollout reflects the updated settings when edited
* cancelled rollout jobs now show **Cancelled**
* the correct rollout and batch remain in the rollout list
* any affected operators know the rollout was changed or cancelled
* the rollout history identifies the intended rollout and batch

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.verifone.com/verifone-central-getting-started/verifone-central/verifone-central-device-manager/rollouts/schedule-rollouts/modify-existing-rollout.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
